Hope For Head Injury, Coma and Traumatic Brain Injury

Another Life Spared

My vocal coach and friend Lorraine Ferro has written some number one Christian Music singles (Adonai, Stand), and has won a Dove award for Song of the Year. She recently held a concert with Twila Paris (which I’ve included a link to below) in which she gave a testimony surrounding Harold. With her permission, the following is part of an e-mail exchange we had very shortly after my brother’s accident.

Dear Mary Ellen,

My prayers are still with you.

After reading your e-mail this morning telling me of your brother’s accident and asking for prayer, I got in my car to drive to my concert in Connecticut.

At around 12 noon, I looked down for two seconds while driving and almost hit a car. I swerved to the left, and lost complete control of my car. I began swerving all over. I ended up spinning around and around, and hitting the divider. The other car didn’t have anything happen to it. I was OK, although my car was totalled. I walked out of my car laughing. I laughed while the cops took my info, and while the tow truck took me to the garage. I laughed calling a taxi to my gig, and when I called my folks. People thought it was because I was in shock, but it was because of your e-mail. After reading about your brother’s situation, I realized that I was alive. And I could walk. Today was going to be a good day. I’m in some pain tonight, but that’s to be expected. I know I’m blessed. God is good. And you’re right to be hopeful. Miracles happen every day. I performed two concerts today, back to back. It wasn’t my time yet. And I don’t believe it’s your brother’s either. Too much yet to do!

Much love to you and your family,

Lorraine

Dear Mary Ellen,

I am inspired by you, and your brother. I have seen the world differently since Saturday. My perspective has been permanently changed. I am seeing people with more love than I have in a long time.

The concert I performed with Twila Paris at the Lamb’s Theater on Sunday was broadcast on over 250 radio stations! I prefaced the concert by telling the audience that today was a day of miracles. I have told many people about your faith, and the miracle you have helped generate. If you want to hear the songs for support, you can go to Crosswalk.com and click on Twila Paris’ September 26th Lamb’s Theater show. If you place the pointer toward the middle of the show, you’ll hear me come on. The first song I do is called, “Adonai,” and if you need to remember that you are not alone, there it is!

Much love,

Lorraine
